Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great time over Memorial Day weekend, although there were a few fun adventures to go along with it. We went to John Martin Reservoir. We had never been there before so we booked a campsite over the Internet and hoped for the best. When we got there it was a barren campsite with no trees, you could see and hear all the neighbor campers, and lots of wind. We have a huge tent so trying to set it up in the wind, well it turns into a bit of a parachute, which makes for cranky parents. We got out on the lake pretty quick and had a great time driving around. The lake is really pretty and pretty good size for Colorado. I decided I needed to get in and ski, I have been itching to do so since we got the boat. Well the water was FREEZING! I have skied in cold water before and this topped it all off! The wind kicked up and I ended up skiing in what felt like the freaking ocean! We pulled the boat in and got back to our campsite and make dinner in the wind. The next day was absolutely beautiful! It was the perfect day to be on the lake, sun, no wind. We all skied on great water, played on the beach, ate lunch without wind and had an amazing time. That night at about midnight the wind picked up, it was so hard I had never heard wind so hard in a tent before. I was sure we were in a tornado or there was aliens out there or something :). Tonya's tent blew down and she ended up sleeping in the boat poor girl! There was a group of people who were so loud, I guess part of being in a camp ground. Anyways, overall we had a great time, the kids LOVED it!! Enjoy the pics! There are few random ones there at the end...
