Santa Train

For the last three years we have gone on the Santa Train and it is lots of fun. This year it was just the five of us. The Cog Railroad goes about half way up pikes peak, Santa, Mrs. Claus and a few elves ride along with us. The kids get to talk to Santa, sing Christmas carols, color and watch out the windows, not to mention ride a train, what kid doesn't love that. We stop and get out, have cookies and hot chocolate, get Christmas tattoos and sit on Santa's lap. No lines, its not scary, Santa and Mrs. Claus are soooo nice! Anyways we had a great time and the kids loved it!

Kaya is 5!

Wow, I can't believe Kaya is 5, 5 just seems like such a big age, so grown up! We have enjoyed her so much. She is a sweet, sensitive little girl, has taken a mother hen role and loves her brother and sister so much. She has gotten to the sassy stage(we are hoping to nick that one in the butt before it gets out of hand), loves anything pink, sparkly and girly. I am not sure where she came from, but we love her for who she is. She can sit and play Barbies for hours, she goes in her own little world, she has quite an imagination. We love our big 5 year old, she brings us so much joy!

We have a tradition of getting creative with birthday cakes. This year Kaya requested a Princess Castle cake. It turned out pretty cute ... we even made the fondant frosting ourselves so it tasted ok.

She has been asking to get her ears pierced forever so that is what she got for her 5th birthday. She loves them and shows everybody she comes in contact with.. pink sparkly flowers of course

She wanted to go ice skating for her birthday party, so we settled with roller skating. It was fun to watch a bunch of 5 year olds on skates, maybe even more fun to watch the grown ups who haven't skated since junior high :)

Some of her presents. A guitar so she can be like Hannah Montana (yikes)

A mermaid swim set from Aunt Mindy, she will love these in the pool!

We got lots more, I will spare you all the pictures, our 5 year old is very blessed (or spoiled, not sure yet :))

Oma likes to have dinner and a cake as well, so this was that celebration

We had a night party with friends of ours so we made this batman cake for Caden
